This project, part of the West End Community Plan, transforms an underutilized parkade area into 11 new homes along the laneway.

What Made this Unique
This project prioritizes efficient land use, converting an underutilized parkade into valuable residential units, redefining what could be done in existing dense multifamily laneways. This project utilized non-combustible construction through a light-gauge steel structure and concrete topping to meet code requirements, which brought large-scale construction practices to a laneway infill building. Integrating the new building’s life safety systems to the existing tower’s upgraded systems helped modernize living for all residents on the property.
