The Lady Minto Hospital Foundation purchased the end-of-life Seabreeze Inn in order to address the critical need for staff housing facing the local Lady Minto Hospital on Salt Spring Island. We’re pleased to be supporting the Foundation in providing Owner’s Representation and Development Management for the conversion of the aging motel into 18 purpose-built rental suites for local healthcare workers.

What Made this Unique
Delivering this project on Salt Spring Island presented several unique challenges, including limited site access due to concurrent major road upgrades along the Island’s primary thoroughfare. Careful planning and coordination with the roadworks contractor were essential to maintain progress and minimize disruptions. Additionally, close collaboration with the Foundation to engage with local businesses was a key component of the project, aimed at building local capacity and reinvesting in the community.
